Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion Set the Grammy Awards 2021 on Fire with WAP

Cardi B

This year’s 63rd Annual Grammy Awards got delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Earlier it was scheduled on 31st January but later it happened recently on 14th March. This ceremony honors musical artists, albums, and compositions, across 84 different categories.

The 2021 Grammy Awards will go down in history as the most controversial for all the criticism that they have brought in recent months from artists such as The Weekend or Zayn, who have not hesitated to point out in networks the alleged corruption of the American Academy.

But controversies aside, this edition has ended with the greatest female artists of our generation smashing all records. Beyonce, Megan Thee Stallion, Cardi B., Taylor Swift, and Billie Eilish have been the great winners of a night in which the American industry rewarded the best and showed all its power with a gala at the height of the great prizes of all time.

On the Grammy stage, the musical performances of artists such as Harry Styles, who have broken all the records by performing his hit Watermelon Sugar or Dua Lipa, who have not disappointed by defending their songs Don't Start Now and Levitation, have stood out.

But if there has been an explosive and fiery performance, it has been that of Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion. The American rappers delighted their followers by performing WAP for the first time live and dressed as warriors in sexy armor.

The first to take the stage was Megan who began by singing two of her greatest hits: Body and Savage. The artist appeared on a golden staircase, including a flurry of bills, and stood on a stage dominated by a giant high-heeled shoe and an oversized bed.

Megan Thee Stallion has established herself this year as one of the American rappers with the most projection inside and outside the United States. In total, she has won four Grammy Awards tonight: Record of the Year, Best Rap Song, Best Rap Performance, and Best New Artist.

Absolute winners of the Grammy Awards Night – 2021

Likely, you haven't even noticed that Megan Thee Stallion has been sneaking into the 'playlist' of your favorite songs for a long time. Almost a year, to be exact. Especially because there is a subject of which she is the author that has not gone from being heard by all sides: 'Savage'.

Recently, during the 2021 Grammy Awards (if you have not seen the 'red carpet' yet, do not miss it), she took three of the four statuettes that she was opting for. She was the absolute winner of the night! And the best of all is that she also pretends to be from what she sounds through our speakers.

The 25-year-old American rapper, songwriter, and actress have been on the radar for a long time. Some of the milestones that have made this possible (and that have led her to accumulate 30 and a half million listeners on Spotify and almost 22 million 'followers' on Instagram) are, for example, her lyrics in which she speaks openly about her sexuality or who is the creator of the term 'Hot Girl Summer': viral last summer for breaking with aesthetic canons.

But wait, because she's not the only artist who has collaborated with Megan. Normani, Tyga, or Major Lazer are on the list. Although the union that led him to fame was Beyonce! The artist - who, by the way, has broken a record for awards at the 2021 Grammy Awards - wanted to collaborate on the rapper's best-known song, 'Savage', releasing the definitive remix.

But once this milestone was reached, the interpreter has not stopped. Cardi B was her third major collaboration, with the hit 'WAP'. Who hasn't moved their body with this song?

The performers also sang separately. Megan Thee Stallion, who won the Best New Artist awards; and best rap song and performance by Savage Remix in collaboration with Beyonce, performed Body and Savage, while her partner sang Up.

It does not doubt that Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion set the Grammys on fire with WAP: "Republicans will be very angry after this"

This duo’s performance was one of the most talked-about of the night on Twitter. Republicans are going to be very angry after this performance by Cardi and Meg. And I love that, "commented a tweeter." How long will it take to exploit the right-wing media?

"Meg and Cardi have violated all the rules of the Federal Communications Commission," tweeted one onlooker. "The performance of Meg and Cardi was without a doubt the best of the night," said another fan.
